IOSH has partnered with the International Social Security Association (ISSA) to deliver VISION ZERO training, a programme that will give you the skills and knowledge to develop a preventative strategy in your organisation.

The campaign is centred on VISION ZERO’s three core values – safety, health and wellbeing – which are guided by seven golden rules.

VISION ZERO training offers the chance to create a workplace that is safe and healthy for all, based on the belief that all work-related accidents, disease and other harm are preventable. It is aimed at those who have responsibility for creating a preventative culture in the workplace. And because the VISION ZERO principles are flexible, they can be used in all types of workplace and all businesses, globally.

Vision Zero believes in a culture of prevention, delivered by connecting to seven golden rules. The course will give you the knowledge to deliver these rules in your workplace:

1. Take leadership – demonstrate commitment
2. Identify hazards – control risks
3. Define targets – develop programmes
4. Ensure a safe and healthy system – be well-organised
5. Ensure safety and health in machines, equipment and workplaces
6. Improve qualifications – develop competence
7. Invest in people – motivate by participation

Learning aims:- understand the concept of VISION ZERO as a preventative strategy- understand the 7 Golden Rules of VISION ZERO- understand the organisational benefits of introducing a VISION ZERO strategy and what actions need to be taken to implement it.

Vision Zero is suitable for managers, supervisors, health and safety professionals and others involved in workplace safety, health and wellbeing.
Assessment and Certification
By the end of this session you will be able to:

1. Explain the concept of VISION ZERO as a preventative strategy
2. Define the principles of each of the 7 golden rules
3. Identify where their organisation is currently in the journey towards VISION ZERO
4. Describe the benefits that adopting a VISION ZERO strategy could bring to their organisation
5. Define the actions required to implement the VISION ZERO strategy into their organisation
6. Identify the tools that are available to help them to implement VISION ZERO within their organisation

Upon successful completion of the training, an IOSH certificate will be issued.
Method of Delivery: The training is made up of classroom-based learning.
